Partnership Opportunities

Partnership Opportunities

Calgary Transit is dedicated to forming partnerships that align with its mission to provide intuitive, safe, accessible, and welcoming public transit services. Through these partnerships, Calgary Transit aims to improve the transit experience, support community initiatives, and contribute to Calgary’s economy.

Partnering with Calgary Transit can enhance the success of your event by offering a convenient and affordable transportation option, helping reduce traffic congestion and easing parking challenges. If your event is publicly accessible and located near a CTrain station or bus terminal, a partnership can make your event more environmentally friendly, accessible, and enjoyable for all attendees.

Calgary Transit offers a few partnership opportunities including fare bundling, bulk fare purchase, and integrated transit tickets. Note, each opportunity may require you to allocate budget to purchase or implement a fare solution. Calgary Transit cannot cover the cost of complimentary transit fares for attendees.

  1. Fare Bundling: This involves including the cost of a transit ticket in your event ticket(s). With fare bundling, the event ticket price covers both admission and transit fare. The event organizer will make a lump sum payment to Calgary Transit based on the total revenue from the transit portion of the event ticket(s). The event ticket itself serves as valid proof of fare for transit use.
  2. Bulk Fare Purchase: Calgary Transit offers discounted rates for organizations purchasing transit tickets in bulk. An event organizer can buy a large number of tickets to provide transit fare to attendees, volunteers, staff, or participants. Discounts are applied to transit fare products (e.g., Adult Single Ride tickets or Adult Day Passes) based on the quantity purchased. The event organizer may collaborate with a sponsor to cover the cost of the transit tickets.
  3. Integrated Transit Ticket: The event organizer implements a technological solution that allows customers to purchase a Calgary Transit ticket along with their event ticket when buying online or through the event’s app. During the online checkout process, customers will have the option to add a Calgary Transit ticket to their purchase, which can then be downloaded to their mobile phone. Note, integration requires IT support.
