New Year's Eve Fireworks Detour
Heading to check out the fireworks on New Year’s Eve? Please note there will be some bus detours in place during the show.
Starting Saturday, December 31, at 11:30 p.m. and for approximately 1 hour, 1 Street & Centre Street S (between 6 - 9 Avenue S.W.) and 9 Avenue (between 1 Street S.W. - 1 Street S.E.) will be closed for the New Year's Eve Fireworks event.
Routes 1, 6, 10, 22 & 66, 24, 90, 101, 300, 302, and MAX Purple will be detoured.
To help you get home safely, Calgary Transit will have extended service on New Year’s Eve!
The CTrain will run until 4 a.m. on January 1, 2023.
Routes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 22, 301, 302, and MAX routes will run until 3 a.m. on January 1, 2023.

Route 1
Starting Saturday, December 31 at 11:30 p.m. and for approximately 1 hour, 1 Street & Centre Street S (between 6 - 9 Avenue S.W.) and 9 Avenue (between 1 Street S.W. - 1 Street S.E.) will be closed for the New Year Eve Fireworks event.
Buses will travel:
- From east on 5 Avenue S.W.
- South on 1 Street S.E.
- East on 9 Avenue S.E. to regular route
The following stops are tempoarily closed:
- Southbound Centre Street S @ 7 Avenue S.W. – nearside (existing detour stop)
- #7380 eastbound 9 Avenue @ Centre Street S.
Please use the following temporary stops:
- #7830 southbound 1 Street @ 7 Avenue S.E.
- #9802 eastbound 9 Avenue @ Macleod Trail S.E.
Route 6
Starting Saturday, December 31 at 11:30 p.m. and for approximately 1 hour, 1 Street & Centre Street S (between 6 - 9 Avenue S.W.) and 9 Avenue (between 1 Street S.W. - 1 Street S.E.) will be closed for the New Year Eve Fireworks event.
Buses will travel:
- North on 1 Street S.W.
- East on 12 Avenue S.W.
- North on Macleod Trail S.E.
- West on 6 Avenue S.E. to regular route
The following stop will be tempoarily closed:

Route 10
Starting Saturday, December 31 at 11:30 p.m. and for approximately 1 hour, 1 Street & Centre Street S (between 6 - 9 Avenue S.W.) and 9 Avenue (between 1 Street S.W. - 1 Street S.E.) will be closed for the New Year Eve Fireworks event.
